Life goes slowly in The Philippines. You wake up, try to catch some waves, have some breakfast and start touring on your motor bike. Wanna join?
We start our journey on the beautiful island of Siargao, in the east of the country. It’s an one hour flight from Cebu.
Siargao is also called the island of the palmtrees. I couldn’t agree more. The whole island is covered with over a million of my favorite trees.
You can surf as much as you like every single day, do some island hopping or simply go to one of the deserted beaches. It’s the island life pur sang.
Did you know basketball is the number one sport in The Philippines? That’s because you don’t need much to play. Just a ball, a ring and one or two players.
I had the pleasure of spending 30 days in this amazing country. I visited 5 islands (out of 7000). Besides Siargao, I went to Cebu, Bohol, Coron and El Nido.
It’s too bad the image of the country is not that good. I experienced the Filipinos as very friendly and kind people. And yeah, there are probably islands that you best stay away from as a tourists. But other than that… It’s simply amazing.
